The Florida Council of Churches is a catalyst for realizing the unity which Christ has given the Church, a unity that leads to solidarity with all of humanity.

At the beginning of biblical history, God calls the immigrant Abraham to become a blessing for all families upon the earth.  Isaiah prophesizes that all flesh shall see the salvation of God. The Apostle Paul says that Christ dies once for all. Peter declares that all who are just are acceptable in the sight of God.

Jesus prays that his disciples might be one so that the world may believe that God sent him. He teaches us even as the Hebrew scriptures do that we are to love God with all of our heart, mind, soul and will, and each other as we do ourselves.

The unity of faithful Christians and the well-being of the human race go together. The Florida Council of Churches seeks both one and the other — to the glory of God and the honor of Christ Jesus.
